--He completed internships at the VA Hospitals in Memphis and Nashville.

--He served as the clinical director of the Laurel Center (a dual diagnosis, in-patient psychiatric hospital) from 1988 to 1994.

--He served as the therapist for a physician's therapy group in Cookeville since 1991.

--He served as an adjunct professor at The University of Tennessee and at Tennessee Tech University in the past.

--He served as the Clinical Director for The Personal Growth and Learning Center from 1994 to 2000, an outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment program.

--He served as an evaluator/advisor for the Tennessee Methamphetamine Pilot Treatment Project--Metro Nashville Residential Drug Court from 2005-2009.

--He served on the Governor's Methamphetamine Task Force.
